Passenger Flow Counting System Based on the Active IR Technology
Dequn Liang · Journal of Chinese Computer Systems · 2007
The passenger flow counting system is the application of image processing and pattern recognition. This paper proposes a system based on the active Near-IR imaging. It can resolve the contradiction between the system's cost and the algorithm complexity. It can not be affected by the change of illumination conditions and shadows. To avoid the overlapping condition, the CCD camera is hung from the ceiling with a directly downward view, and the system can deal with the problem of the passing people walks closely each other. This system has high accuracy, intelligence and robusticity. Some test results are given at last.
