A NEW TRANSMISSION NETWORK EXPANSION PLANNING USING IMPROVED GENETIC ALGORITHM BASED ON BORDERLINE SEARCH STRATEGY

Genetic algorithm(GA)has been proved a powerful tool for global optimality, especially in the multi peaks optimization problem. But it has a weakness in taking too much time to reach a satisfactory solution because of only depending on its' fitness function. Based on standard GA, this paper presents a new improved GA based on borderline search strategy which is used to speed up GAs' search tenor. Practical application of this method proves that it is effective.
