Framework for Computing Purely Semantic Precision and Recall of Ontology Mapping

Dezhi Xu, Jianer Chen · 2008

To evaluate and compare various algorithms of ontology mapping,it is indispensable to apply them to a group of test ontology pairs, and compare the results(named mappings/alignments)with some references,so a group of criteria is needed to evaluate the closeness of results.Former measures all have their own limitations, and do not rely purely on the semantics of ontologies and alignments. The disadvantages of former measures were demonstrated through some examples, then based on distributed description logics,a framework for computing purely semantic precision and recall of ontology mapping was proposed, which was proved to be able to guarantee that measures in it are purely semantic.
