Failure Analysis of Negative Pressure Wave Leak Detection and Solutions in Submarine Pipeline
Sun Qi-chang · Pipeline Technique and Equipment · 2013
A negative pressure wave leak detection system in submarine crude oil pipelines often fails because of very high false positives and false negatives.According to the basic principle of negative pressure wave leak detection, the major reasons of failure are analyzed, based on the instruments mounting situation and the real operational condition of the submarine pipeline. The solution of infrasonic wave leak detection is presented in light of the site situation. The technical paramenters and system composition of the infrasonic wave leak detection system are introduced. The system can give leakage alarm and indicate the position successfully in the proecess of oil drainage tests.
