On Applying Multi-Agent Technology into Distributed GIS

Distributed GIS and related distributed computation technology are introduced. By adopting Multi-Agent in distributed GIS, some key problems of GIS application based on distributed object are dealt with. Utilizing Multi-Agent and Multi-Layer structure of GIS system, Multi-Agent is applied to distributed GIS successfully. A specific application of Multi-Agent to acquire spatial information in distributed GIS is also introduced, from which a conclusion can be drawn that application of Multi-Agent in distributed GIS can find a satisfying solution to the key issue of GIS applications based on distributed object.
