Geologic Application of Diplog Data
Zhang Lin · Well Logging Technology · 2005
Diplog is a kind of mature log technique in which well logging technology and geology penetrate with each other. Diplog data can explain sedimentary and geological phenomenon and provide valuable evidences for exploration and exploitation. Presented are the latest applying achievements in the exploration and exploitation in the Erlian oilfield . Using the dip vector frequency plot whose structure dip is moved away, we can analyze and judge the resources orientation of the glutinite formation and sand body distribution, and forecast the profitable pay zones in different sedimentary environments in the area of W and M so to present trustworthy data for looking for the valuable oil traps, which has brought remarkable economic benefits for exploration and exploitation. In interpreting sedimentary facies, if the different structure dips are selected, the result will be completely different. So the selection of structure dip is the most important .
