A New Optimal Velocity Threshold Algorithm Based on Optimal QoS of HCS

As mobile telephone traffic demands increase in the future, interest in cellular systems with a hierarchical structure will grow. Hierarchical systems can provide high system capacity, efficient channel utilization, and an inherent load-balancing capacity. Normally the fixed velocity threshold is decided and adjusted on the bas is of historical datum, but it has the drawback that the dynamic behavior of the system is not taken into account. So how to determine the optimal value of the velocity threshold is important. This paper gives a new way of determining the velocity threshold based on QoS (quality of service) according to the traffic load. QoS is considered both for MacroLayers and MicroLayers.
