Research on Implementation and Application of Synchronized Multimedia Based on WWW

Multimedia technology is a very important direction in computer research area, the synchronizing control is a factor that must be considered in every multimedia system. Based on the question of multimedia's synchronizing control on WWW, the goal of SMIL formulated by W3C is analysed in examples, the research status of SMIL's implementation in the world is introduced, and the model of SMOD system which is defined by the authors is described. Finally, the important value of SMIL's development on WWW is summarized.
