On Use of Wavelet in Computational Combustion
Bin Zhou-jin · 2008
The numerical simulation of combustion remains a challenging task.A dynamically adaptive multilevel wavelet collocation was proposed and was applied to a test problem involving flame propagation in a representative fuel-air mixture,in which the chemistry was treated using a standard one-step reduced reaction mechanism. The resulting algorithm is considerably more efficient by using matrix operators.Numerical results demonstrate the ability of the method to resolve localized structures which change their location and steepness in space and time. The present results indicate that the method has clear advantages in comparison with well established numerical algorithms.
