An improved semi-blind channel estimation based on signal subspace in OFDM systems

An improved semi-blind channel estimation based on signal subspace in OFDM systems is presented.With gradient based variable forgetting factor RLS algorithm, auto-correlation matrices of received signal are calculated.Through simultaneous diagonalization of the overall covariance matrices of both received signal and noise signal, noise signal subspace is estimated without any a priori assumption on the stochastic property of the noise signal.The proposed method efficiently attains the semi-blind estimation of channel in color noise, which overcomes the disadvantage of original method that converges slowly in time varying channel and is only suitable for white noise.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm possesses good performance.
