Triangular mesh model-based video coding: motion estimation, compensation and residual image processing

In this paper the Delaunay triangular mesh (DTM) and regular triangular mesh(RTM) model-based video coding schemes are discussed including inter-frame motion prediction and residual image processing, with the experimental results been illustrated. This paper presents the segmentation method with triangular mesh, the computation of motion vector and its optimization, etc.The results show that DTM and RTM have a better subjective and objective quality than conventional BMA scheme.
