Research of Bi-directional Motion Estimation for Frame Rate Up and Hardware Structure

In order to resolve the ghosting in image displayed on liquid TV,and image flicker,this paper present a bidirectional predict algorithm to improve frame up.Using experience threshold value with bilateral motion estimation to decrease the error in interpolated frames for frame up,block artifacts and hole problem.This paper also compare full search method and three steps search method by their arithmetic expenses,explain how to using three steps search to realize motion estimation and motion compensation,and present the hardware structure to implement this algorithm.Using image series to test this algorithm by software simulate,provide a better evaluate objectively.
