Data service composition approach based on query rewriting

In order to solve critical technology problems of data aggregation, an ontology-based approach was introduced to publish and compose data-intensive web service. Semantic web service specification was used to describe contents ability of the web service. The dynamic evolving interface technology of web service and a query rewriting-based planner for service composition algorithm were proposed. Advantages of the proposed approach were that the data service could dynamically adapt itself to customers' query request so as to improve the user's satisfaction on query requests. The simulation results revealed that the approach would be more adaptive for large-scale data service composition. The approach was applicable to the highly interactive situation comparing to the data service with fixed interfaces of Web Service Description Language (WSDL).
