Scale choosing based on spectrum analysis in a novel wavelet principle for fault line selection

On the basis of traditional signal spectrum analysis, scale choosing in a novel wavelet principle for fault line selection is analyzed in detail. The relation between spectrum and wavelet transform modulus maxima of transient fault signal is discussed in detail, which provides a theoretical foundation for choosing scale in the new wavelet criterion as well as an important analyzing method for more wavelet applications in other fields of power system.
