Orthogonal decomposition and low dimensional approximation of turbulent structures and identification of turbulent coherent patterns

The orthogonal decomposition and low dimensional approximation of turbulent structures are investigated, and a pattern identification method based on orthogonal decomposition is suggested. Furthermore, theoretical and experimental results of orthogonal decomposition in jet flow, turbulent boundary layer and channel flow are also analyzed.
