Design and Implementation of RS Decoder in IEEE 802.16d
Qingfeng Gao · Modern Electronics Technique · 2008
Reed-Solomon code is an important part of the channel coding in IEEE 802.16d.An improved version of RS decoder is proposed based on the code characteristic in the standard.Reducing the latency of syndrome computation block by the cyclic property of RS code, simplifing the modified syndrome computation as all the erasure positions are known, reducing the number of basic cells in the key-equation solving block by analysis of the application environment. The design is also implemented with Verilog HDL,verified in FPGA and applied in WiMAX 802.16d system.
