Filtering Image Impulse Noise Based on Fuzzy Logic

In this paper,an algorithm for filtering the image impulse noise is presented to enhance images corrupted by impulse noise based on fuzzy logic.The filter consists of two stages.The first stage detects noise points,it is based on grayscale distribution among neighboring pixels.The second stage use the maximum-minimum exclusive median method to estimate the current pixel.The second stage is based on fuzzy rules which make use of membership functions.The new algorithm is used to remove the impulse noise,the resulht is got better than that of the other median filters.
