A Method for Recovery of Private Keys of Encryption Digital Certificates

A method for recovery of private keys of encryption digital certificates is proposed. With the proposed method,while the certificate issuing system issues a certificate to a user,a specific key recovery certificate is employed to encrypt the private key of the certificate,and then the encrypted private key is encoded in a newly-defined private key recovery extension field. When the private key of a user certificate is compromised or lost,the key recovery system,after validating the identity of the user,could recover the key from the extension.
