Design of the LFM signal generator with FPGA based on DDS

The technology of direct digital synthesis(DDS) plays an important role in modern radar waveform generation,with which the resolution of frequency is high,the change rate of frequency is rapid and the phase noise is low.In the paper,the principle,circuit diagram and optimization of DDS design based on field programmable gate array(FPGA) are presented.In the design implementation and simulation,the Altera Cyclone FPGA device is utilized and the linear interpolation algorithm adopted,then the linear frequency modulation(LFM) signal can be easily generated.
