Study on 3D Surface Model Method of Figure Statue

Light Detection and Ranging(Li DAR) is a technology that captures spatial data of objects' surface by laser ranging.The method of reconstructing the target sculpture's three-dimensional surface model with Li DAR and relevant software is introduced.Precise point cloud data of the target sculpture were captured.The point cloud data were in register to acquire exact data of the target sculpture.The triangular meshes were built to construct the three-dimensional surface model.Texture mapping and crack treatment with reverse engineering software were to visualize the model.The experiment result shows that the method is effective,precise and fast.
