An Architecture of Programmable Networks and its Implementation

Cims Researeh · 2000

Programmable networks(also called networks) represents a siedcant step in the evolution of packet switched networks, from traditional packet-forwarding engines to more general functionality supporting dynamic control and modilication of behavior. However, the phrase active network means different things to different people. This paper introduces a general model for talking about networks, describes some. possible approaches. The introduction of supplies traditional architecture with programmability, intelligence, flexibility and interoperability.
