In order to decrease amount of repeated and complicated calculation and query when design a vacuum system,the technology of artificial intelligence is adopted to create an expert system for design of vacuum system.This paper focused on describing the representation of domain knowledge,the creation of knowledge base,rule-based reasoning technique and reasoning machine.
