Block motion estimation algorithm based on Hilbert pixel-decimation

Adaptive pixel-decimation is a critical technique to the successful estimations of block-motion vectors.Concerning the locality problem in the traditional adaptive pixel-decimation algorithm, a pixel-decimation algorithm is proposed using the Hilbert curve, and it is combined with the adaptive rood pattern search algorithm to get a fast block motion estimation algorithm.The simulation results show that our algorithm is quite effective and robust, and it is easily used in the low-bit-rate video coding application.
