Design and Implementation of Simulation Platform for Space Network Protocols Based on NS-2

Presently, most of the popular simulation software is not perfect at simulating the space network protocols. A simulation platform was designed and implemented based on analyzing the deficiency of NS-2 under this case. The platform was programmed by Java language, which has good extensibility and portability. The platform supplies some functions to improve the simulation efficiency, which includes creating simulation scenes on graphical interfaces, generating the TCL script automatically and so on. Furthermore, the validity of the platform was validated, according to simulating and analyzing the different network capability between TCP and TCP-Vegas in space network.
