Research on Image Retrieval Algorithms Based on Maximum Connected Region Area Histogram

In content-based image retrieval,color features are widely used.An improved method is proposed to overcome the problem that the traditional color histogram method does not take the spatial information of colors into account.The presented method analyzes the spatial distribution difference among the pixels of correlative color and replaces total amount of pixels used in traditional histogram with the maximum connected region area.Thus,spatial distribution feature of color is reflected indirectly,while rotation and translation invariance of traditional color histogram are kept.
