Survey of Motion Estimation Used in Video Sequence
Donghe Wang · Video Engineering · 2012
Because of the calculation simplicity, image block motion estimation algorithm, which combines with the ongoing improvement of transform domain motion estimation,sub-pixel precision and the searching strategy,is adopted by many video coding standards.Firstly, the basic principles of motion estimation and its applications are introduced, and then the researches of motion estimation algorithms are elaborated on.Finally, after a summary of current works, the future research directions and challenges are pointed out.
