String information extracting method from AutoCAD drawing database

The article expounds a method of getting character string from AutoCAD drawing database and adding it to Microsoft SQL Server database system automatically through the ObjectARX 2000. The method can be used to get parts' global and process information from CAD drawing, which is very important for developing CAPP system and realizing information sharing for CAD and CAPP.
