Application of total probability formula in power generation system reliability evaluation

Monte Carlo sampling technology,which is normally used in power system probabilistic simulation,needs large sample size and low efficiency. A new method that unifies the total probability formula and Monte Carlo is proposed to reduce power generation system computation time. The new method improves simulation accuracy and accelerates the convergence of Monte Carlo simulation. The computation result in IEEE RST test system proves its efficiency and feasibility.
