Method of creating geodatabase by using CASE tools

Through analyzing the advantages of the geodatabase with spatial information storage and management, the paper puts forward three kinds of modeling methods and their own suitable situations for geodatabase. Also according to the function of the CASE tools which allow users to create custom elements used to extend the data model of ArcInfo 8, it discusses the modeling method by using CASE tools. With standard object-oriented analysis and design plan and theory, this method has set up the designing schema by UML modeling language. On the basis of the model, it has carried out the behavior of custom elements and created the geodatabase to save the attributes of custom elements.
