An Improved Dempster-Shafer Algorithm and Its Application to Target Recognition

Dempster Shafer evidence theory, one of multi sensor data fusion algorithms, has been widely used. However, it also has some shortcomings. D S evidence combination can not proceed if the evidence totally collides with each other. In addition, the combination result can not keep accord with the real condition when the evidence seriously conflicts. To solve this problem, this paper puts forward a new AND operator of D S evidence combination and gives a simulation result. It shows that the approach can eliminate disturbance. And the combination result satisfies the practical situation.
