Chinese-English patent machine translation based on templates

This paper proposed a method based on templates to improve the performance of patent machine translation.By ana-lyzing Chinese-English bilingual aligned corpus of patent document,it created more than 600 templates manually,which designed based on weakening of regular grammar.It generated a template-based translation module and integrated it to a rule-based MT system.Experiment shows that the translation quality of 40% test text is improved.So,the proposed approach is effective in patent machine translation.
