Practice of promoting holistic nursing in a progressive way

The paper describes how the idea of promoting holistic nursing throughout the hospital in a progressive way was brought forward and put into effect. First of all, guided by theory, transformation to the concept of nursing by the entire personnel was initiated. Second, the effects of direct nursing were enhanced with the patients put at the center of all work. Third, indirect service setups were perfected with the focus laid on clinical nursing. Hence the improvement of the quality of nursing and the level of the entire nursing staff and the gradual realization of the transformation from functional nursing to holistic nursing.
