Selection of Metal Oxide Arrester in AC Power System

The selection method of metal oxide lightning arrester (MOA) used in neutral directly grounding and un - directly grounding AC power system was introduced. Based on GB11032-2000, and combined with the natural condition and system condition at installation site (such as local ambient conditions, power frequency over - voltage, continued operation voltage, discharge current capacity, nominal discharge current and ability of and - pollution at installation site), the protection and operation characteristics of MOA should be selected reasonably in order to get good technical and economic benefits.
