Robustness of serial RapidIO system
Ping Zhang · Journal of Jilin University · 2011
The noise and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) in Serial RapidIO (SRIO) interconnect are generated by unavoidable errors of hardware implementation and tough environment. To combat these noise and EMI, a Robust Transport Protocol (ROTP) was proposed as an extension to existing SRIO specification. The main ideas of ROTP include speed transition and mode conversion. Speed transition can improve the average throughput in high Bit Error Rate (BER) environment. Mode conversion is to conquer frequent usage of feedback channel. Simulation and analysis prove that ROTP can effectively enhance the robustness of the SRIO interconnect and improve the system performance in a poor working environment.
