Improving IP Traceback Performance Based on Tabu Marking
Sun Le-chang · Microelectronics & Computer · 2007
As a hotspot in IP traceback research field,Probabilistic packet marking(PPM) is becoming a cause for concern. There are some shortcomings in most of traditional PMM schemes. These PPM schemes sometimes base on unpractical hypotheses, which affects their practicability.Tabu scheme solves the slow convergence and spoof marking attack problem of traditional PPM schemes, but it results in high overhead.Based on reasonable hypotheses,Tabu marking scheme is improved in this paper. With counting distance by TTL value and node sampling, the performance of Tabu scheme is improved.Improved scheme is provided with the ability of incremental deployment and better practicability.
