Correlation Dimension Analysis on Electroencephalogram Signal Evoked by Mental Tasks

Cai Chao · Journal of Henan University of Science & Technology · 2012

The G-P algorithm was employed to calculate the correlation dimension of the electroencephalogram (EEG) signal recorded at five different mental tasks. For the EEG signal derived from the same electrode, the computation results indicate that the value of average correlation dimension is always large when the math task and geometric figure rotation task are implemented, which implies that the activities of the brain neurons increase this moment. For the same mental task, the EEG signals recorded at electrode 01 and 02(occipital region ) always have larger average correlation, which reveals that the brain neurons of occipital region are more active.
