Building seismic damage prediction based on coupling model of GIS and BP ANN

Component Geography Information System(COMGIS) technique is used to develop the damage evaluation system for building(SDESB) combined with BP Artificial Neural Network(ANN).The research indicates:1.SHAKE91(a commercial program to analyze the seismic effect of level stratified soil) can be called from the system menu and the earthquake influence field will be simulated.2.The relatively perfect results can be obtained when the BP ANN model is utilized to predict the seismic damage of building.3.By GIS technique,the BP ANN evaluated results can be perfectly matched spatially with the building information.Thus the critical seismic damage area can be identified.
