Experimental Study on Corpus-based Synonym Learning for English Majors

The traditional English synonym learning methods,that is,introspection-based or dictionary-based methods,have a lot of shortcomings.In order to improve the English synonym learning efficiency of English majors,the author of the present research asked the subjects to acquire English synonyms by using the corpus-based method.The research indicates that the subjects are greatly motivated when retrieving the corpora.And this method can promote them to find out the answers to their questions and get their new findings.By analyzing the data collected from the research,we can see that corpus-based method can significantly help English majors to acquire English synonyms.
