The neural network classifier based on ART for remote sensing images

A new methodology for automatic mapping from Landsat thematic mapper( TM) based on the fuzzy ARTMAP neural network is developed. The ARTMAP dynamics and structure are analyzed. System capabilities are tested on the remote sensing classification problem. Results are compared to those of back propagation neural networks classifier. ARTMAP dynamics are fast and stable, overcoming common limitations of back propagation.
