The Network Storage Technology

Pei Wang · 2003

These years, the data in modern corporations are doubled in about six months. It requires effective ways to store and maintain these data. Todays technology offers three basic options: direct attached storage(DAS), network attached storage(NAS) and storage area networks(SAN). In this paper, we first introduce the features of the three techniques. Then we specify their advantages and disadvantages. At last, we emphasize the advantage of iSCSI SAN which is on the technique of 10 Gigabit Ethernet, and point out that it would be the future network storage technique.
