Research on Building An Information System for Tank-Type Containers

The tank-type container transport hasa short history in China railway. The managementto tank-type containers in Urumuqi Railway Admin-istration has always been manual that leads to lowefficiency and errors. Atthebeginningof 2002 theTank-Type Container Management Information Sys-tem is put in use in Container Transport Center ofUrumuqi Railway Administration. So far this systemhas been working stably with a good performance.Based on this, it is planed to popularize this sys-tem based on the existing three-level network ofRailway Administration and try to achieve a totalfollow-up management to tank-type containerswithin the whole Administration.
