Performance Analysis Model of IP-SWAN

Based on the data transfer process of IP-SWAN (Storage Wide Area Network), a queueing network model of IP-SWAN is established. At the basis of the model, performance bounds analysis model of IP-SWAN is proposed. The theoretical results are compared with the test results, and found to be in agreement. The model analysis shows that performance of IP WAN is the key factor that restricts the maximum performance of IP-SWAN, and the maximum performance of IP-SWAN can be improved by enhancing cache hit rate、increasing link bandwidth and decreasing transmission delay.
