Study on Lightning Protection of Computer Power Supply in Substation

The computer protection system constitutes a major component of power system.But the invasion of lightning surge may lead its failure due to its low voltage withstand level which may affect the normal service power system.A model was build and experimented along the path of lightning surge invasion.A surge absorbing device was installed in front of power supply device,which showed a good surge-chipping effect at ATP simulation.A grounding shield was provided for power conductors to reduce interference of earth potential which released the hazard of lightning surge to computer power supply device of substation and raised the power supply reliability of system.
