Segmentation of Touching Characters in Typeset Mathematical Expressions Based on Sliding Window Technique

Touching characters cannot be segmented which is the main reason for false recognition of typeset mathematical expressions.To solve this problem,a technique which is based on sliding window technique is presented for the segmentation of touching characters in mathematical expressions.Through comparing the feature value,the touching characters are detected.Then the touching characters are segmented.Experimental results show the effectiveness on the accuracy improvement of mathematical expression recognition.
