Study on isolation and screening and characteristic of expansive soil-improving strain

Adopting selective solid media,81 strains,that have an effect on improvement of swelling soils,were isolated.From the 81 strains,a strain(named A9 temporarily) which improved swelling-shrinking of soils well was selected.According to the study of its biological characteristic and condition of improvement on expansive soils,it was identified as Actionmycete,and grew well on gauze No.1(GA) and temperature of 25 to 30℃,initiatied pH 7.0 to 7.5,rotating speed of 120 r/min.The optimal improved condition was pH7.5,temperature 25℃,water content of soil specimen 40%,inoculum amount 7%,culture time 7 d,under this condition,the free expansion rate can be reduced by 33.57%.
