A Method of Terminal Airspace Air Traffic Complexity

This article divides the terminal air traffic complexity into static complexity and dynamic complexity and develops a generic metric for measuring the complexity of a given terminal airspace.Considering the number of aircrafts,aircraft fleet mix,the interactions of arriving and departure trajectory,this article builds an air traffic complexity model.This method is generic because it avoids the influence of uncertainly which is caused by different efficiencies between controllers and reflects the air traffic complexity.Finally,an example is given to testify the method is practical and effective by Matlab.
