A Novel Mixture Pattern Motion Estimation Search Scheme

Based on the real video image sequence's characteristic of motion vector distribution,a novel mixture pattern motion estimation search scheme is proposed in this paper.Motion vector is obtained by halfway-stop technique and search pattern which is confirmed by the search distance.Compared with various search schemes,MPS can satisfy the high speed search and slow moving search simultaneity in video image sequence.The experimental results show that is estimated by novel scheme not only faster than the DS algorithm which is MPEG-4 VM,but also has much less motion compensation error and more genuine motion field.
