High Speed Image Retrieving Based on Color and Edge Points Distribution Characteristics

This paper presents an approach for image retrieving, which uses statistic information of pixels’ color and edge points position distribution as images’ figures and realizes images similar retrieving with these figures. The speed of extracting characteristics and retrieving response time has been highly improved by pre compression of images’ color space and piece wise linear matching of colors.
