Loosely coupled distributed information system

Yaxiao Liu · Journal of Tsinghua University(Science and Technology) · 2002

Heterogeneous and loosely coupled distributed information systems (LCDIS) constructed from existing information systems are needed to take full advantage of existing information systems and to implement global applications for them. A formal description of LCDIS and a definition of a coupled system are given. LCDIS is a network based multi layer distributed information system. The construction method for LCDIS and an example are also introduced. Examples indicate that LCDIS is a useful method for building large distributed information systems, which may effectively use existing information resources.
