An Enlightenment of the Development of Sign Language Translation Major in American Universities

Sign language translation major has a history of more than 30 years in American universities and 130 American universities have this curriculum.However,this major in China just begins.In order to study the experience of America and accelerate the development of sign language translation major in China,the author joined the PEN project,went to America and took training for a week.This paper introduces the experience of developing sign language translation major in America and offers some references and suggestions for the development of this major in China.
